With over 15k followers on Instagram, Jenny Anderson’s outdoor adventures have been gaining quite a fanbase.
The mastermind behind Girl of 10,000 Lakes, Anderson shares stories, tips, and inspirational videos and photos that encourage others to explore the great outdoors. “My goal is to evoke inspiration and wonder through the beauty of the great outdoors,” she writes on her website.
And then. there’s her love of lakes and fishing. “There are few places I’d rather be than canoeing in the Boundary Waters, ice fishing on Mille Lacs or enjoying lake life at the cabin,” she writes.
“I think everyone should experience the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness at least once in their lifetime,” she added in a dedicated post, “and if you can, do it with an outfitter. Whether it’s the pristine waters or secluded wilderness, the call of loons, eagles soaring above, the milkiest of milky ways or the fantastic fishing—there are so many reasons Nick and I go back several times every year.”
Still, Anderson’s love for all things outdoors wasn’t something instilled in her. According to her bio, her wanderlust came later on in life. “That’s why no matter your experience level, I encourage you to to take more detours, step outside your comfort zone, and try something new outdoors,” she writes.
