Going On a Bicycle Trip? Be Prepared for Any Scenario

On bicycle trips abroad, even a small technical detail can ruin everything. Do not leave anything for chance, and prepare in advance for any scenario. Here’s how.

The first thing you need to decide is whether you want an organized or independent trip, touring (with the equipment on the bike), or with an accompanying vehicle.

The nature of the route must then be decided in advance. Think whether the purpose of the trip is to enjoy or improve the level of riding, although many claim that the combination of the two is the best choice.

Think about where you will sleep during the trip. some hotels have adapted their services to the needs of cyclists, have maps with cycling routes in the area, proper food for cyclists, a treatment, and a washing area for bicycles. Such hotels will usually be adjacent to a mountain bike park or to an environment that has a well-developed system of bike paths. Alternatively, you can stay in nature in a tent or sleeping bag.

Consider the weather, the food you will need to bring, appropriate clothing and equipment, and of course, bike repair equipment.

Stay safe. Invest in a great helmet and don’t forget to take lots of pictures!
