Wat Rong Khun, Thailand 

Perhaps one of the most unusual Buddhist temples is located in Thailand. The Thai painter Chalermchai Kostipipat is founder and the designer of this all-white temple. It’s covered with mirror mosaics, and even though there are representations of Michael Jackson and Hello Kitty in the interior in the main temple, the temple still goes by the traditional rules.

Kye Gompa, India 

At 13,668 feet above sea level, placed in the Hymalayas is Kye Gompa, a temple more than 1,000 years old. This temple has been the target of many armies and hit by fires and earthquakes. Nevertheless, it survived and attracts lot of visitors every year.
