Dubai is home to the tallest building in the world, but it is also the place to get a seriously long version of a Persian delicacy.

It is common to find food from different Arabic countries throughout the Middle East, and so, it is not unusual that sangak bread has traveled from Iran to the United Arab Emirates.

The wholewheat leavened flatbread is traditionally baked on a bed of small river stones in an oven. It is known for being long and spread out, and sometimes topped with sesame seeds or poppy seeds.

Khoory Special Kabob Restaurant in Dubai takes its sangak seriously.

Along with favorites like fatoush and hummus, the eatery makes a version of the bread that is the longest in all of Dubai! Kneaded by hand, topped with seeds, and placed over stones in a tandoori oven, the sangak measures 1.5 meters.

But the UAE city is not the only place where you can try the flatbread. There are several restaurants in the United States, particularly California, where sangak is served.
