San Diego isn’t one of the first cities you think of when someone says “green tea” – but it could soon become just that. Holy Matcha is shaping up to be one of its most popular cafés, and it’s home to the most delicious powdered tea you can find in California.

Founder of this adorable café, Geraldine Ridaura, was inspired to open Holy Matcha after falling in love with this beverage during her journey through Japan. After discovering this healthy and delicious alternative to coffee, she decided to introduce it to her local community in San Diego.

Holy Matcha is safely tucked away in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood, not too far away from Balboa Park and San Diego Zoo. Its convenient yet cozy location made it popular with both tourists and locals, but healthy green tea isn’t the only reason to visit it.

Holy Matcha also comes with many delicious light bites on the menu, and it’s one of the most Instagram-worthy cafés in the city. Its pink banquette seating is giving us major Barbie vibes, and if you’re a fan of neon signs and pastel colors – you’ll fit right in.
