How to Make Your Hotel Room More Comfortable

Even the most luxurious of hotels can be a bit of a gamble when it comes to comfort. Sure, a high-end resort is more likely to have soft beds and fluffy pillows than a roadside motel, but there will always be some factors outside of our control. While no hotel will ever really compare to home, there are a few simple things we always like to bring on our travels that can help make any room more comfortable.

Use a Pillow Spray

Aromatherapeutic pillow sprays are usually made with water and a blend of calming essential oils such as lavender and chamomile. Spritz a little on the pillow just before you go to bed, and the soothing scent will help you to fall asleep quickly. One of our favorites is the Vagus Nerve Pillow Mist by Osea Malibu.

Pack Your Slippers

Some hotels provide slippers for guests in the room’s closet, but these tend to be made from flimsy and scratchy materials. Bringing your own slippers from home is the best way to keep your feet warm and cozy so that you can relax after a long day of traveling.

Bring a White Noise Machine

Nothing can ruin sleep like noisy neighbors. Many hotels have policies prohibiting excess noise after a certain hour, but sometimes certain guests just don’t get the memo. White noise machines emit soothing sounds that can help block out the sound of nearby traffic or people running up and down the hallway.
