How To Prevent Your Clothes From Wrinkling While Traveling

One of the biggest challenges we face when traveling is wrinkled clothes. Finding your clothes all wrinkled up in the suitcase is pretty nerve-racking, but there are a few simple things you can do to prevent this scenario.

Packing

Folding your clothes is the quickest way to pack, but it’s also a sure way to find your clothes all wrinkled up once you unpack your suitcase. Instead, make sure to use a rolling method in order to avoid wrinkles and save some space in the suitcase.

Choose Wrinkle-Resistant Materials

Synthetic fabrics such as nylon, lycra and polyester, but also wool and cashmere are all travel-friendly materials that won’t wrinkle easily and don’t need ironing. Make sure you pack clothes made of these fabrics, instead of cotton for example.

Pack Lightly

Too much pressure and friction is what causes clothes to wrinkle, so try to pack lightly and give your clothes some room to breathe.

Iron or Steam

Even if you do everything by the book, chances are that some of your favorite items will get wrinkled in the suitcase. Don’t worry, there are two simple ways to repair the damage. You can buy one of those tiny travel irons that are super useful to have in a suitcase. Another option is to steam your wrinkled clothes or hang them in the bathroom, and the steam will release the wrinkles.
