You’ve probably come across a few pictures online of love locks on bridges. What are these love locks exactly? Well, they’re similar to rings, since they represent the unbreakable love of couples. After the lock is tied to the bridge – the lovers can choose to keep the key or toss it into the ocean to signify that their love is unmatched.

We’re wondering if bridges have ever collapsed due to the weight of all the locks! But anyway, the act itself is a lovely one and we’ve compiled a few places that follow this practice.

Pont des Arts Bridge

The Pont des Arts Bridge is located in the city of love: Paris. It’s the most famous love lock location, and the weight of the total number of locks is equal to 93 metric tons. Wow!

Malá Strana District

The Mala Strana district located in the Czech Republic boasts colorful padlocks probably placed by young sweethearts. The locks add a colorful hue to the bridge and compliment the young vibe of Prague quite nicely.

Vodootvodny Canal

Vovoodtvodny Canal situated in Moscow, Russia houses the love lock tree. This one is a tad different from the others since it showcases a lock tree instead of your typical bridge. Oh, and don’t worry, the tree isn’t damaged by the weight of the locks since it’s made of iron. Phew!
