It’s fairly well-established that two of the best things that we can do for our mental health are to get adequate exercise and spend time outside in nature. What we love about hiking is that it provides the perfect opportunity for both. The U.S. is one of the largest countries in the world, and with such a vast landscape comes a variety of environments. Nature parks and hiking trails can be found throughout the country, so if you’re looking for a new way to get outside and move, consider heading to one of these popular options.

Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian Trail covers over 2,000 miles along the east coast, and while more advanced hikers may be up for the challenge of taking it on in its entirety, there are plenty of smaller spots that can be hiked in a day as well.

Solstice Canyon, California

Solstice Canyon outside of Malibu is home to several trails that can be completed in just a few hours, making it a great option for any level of hiker. The trails are full of greenery and the canyon even has a waterfall.

Mt. Ida, Rocky Mountains

The Mt. Ida trail is consistently rated one of, if not the best hiking trail in the entire Rocky Mountains. The views are absolutely breathtaking and the trail, though moderately challenging, can be completed in a day.
