Casa Natal de Picasso
Your first stop should be Casa Natal de Picasso, the house in which Picasso was born. Situated at Plaza de la Merced square at number 15, the building now serves as a museum and Pablo Ruiz Picasso Foundation’s headquarters.
Statue of Picasso
Plaza de la Merced is home to another important Picasso tourist attraction. A bronze statue created by Francisco López Hernández is installed on one of the square’s benches and shows the painter sitting with a notepad and a pencil in his hands. The statue doesn’t take up the entire bench, allowing visitors to take photos while sitting alongside Picasso.
Museo Picasso Malaga
Museo Picasso Malaga is a museum dedicated to the artist that offers the opportunity for visitors to enjoy Picasso’s art in person while learning more about his life and work. The museum currently has 285 Picasso’s works, mostly donated by his family, in its permanent collection, alongside a large number of loaned pieces.
