The capital of Slovakia, Bratislava is located along the Danube River near Slovakia’s border with Austria and Hungary. This 18th-century town is lively, full of things to do and see. Here are just some of the reasons you should consider visiting.

The History

You don’t have to be a history buff to be fascinated by the long, storied history of Bratislava, which dates back to the Celts and then the Romans. While you’re there, you can visit historical landmark after historical landmark, including St. Martin’s Dome, Bratislava Castle, the Museum of History, and Devin Castle.

A Natural Oasis

It may be a big city, but Bratislava is also incredibly green, with a lot of parks, gardens, forests, and vineyards all around. From Sad Janka Krala, a park just a few minutes away from the old town, to the gardens at Grasalkovičov Palace, you can easily get a daily dose of natural beauty.
