The History
One of the world’s most historical places, much of Lebanon’s history predates even written record. With various occupations starting with the Phoenicians between 300 and 800 BCE, Lebanon is full of historical treasures, fascinating ruins, and ancient cities. You have to see it for yourself.
The Diverse People
Home to many different sects, nationalities, and religions, the Lebanese people are experts at acceptance, free self-expression, and peaceful living. They are worldly, hospitable, easy-going, and won’t be thrown off by tourists, so you should feel free to strike up a conversation with a stranger.
The Music
It may come as a surprise, but music is huge in Lebanon, with some of the world’s most famous Arab artists coming from there. Many singers even have started using English lyrics as the local music scene becomes more international. While you’re there, definitely try to attend a concert or two.
