Riding trains, whether it’s commuting to work or traveling from one city to another, sometimes gets a bad rap. Many find trains to be stuffy, tedious, and boring, and certainly not the most ideal way to travel long distances. But here’s why riding the train can actually provide some wonderful experiences—as long as you’ve got the right attitude.

Productivity

Trains are great for getting things done, plain and simple. If you take the train every day, use that time wisely. Don’t harp on the fact that you have to wait 45 minutes till you reach your destination. Be grateful that you have all that time to get things done uninterrupted. From listening to that important podcast to writing that novel you’ve been dreaming about, this is your opportunity to make it happen.

Reflection

With all of the things we have going on in life, it can be hard to find time to just meditate with our thoughts and just reflect. In fact, sometimes we have so much going on that we forget that we even want (or need) to do something as basic as sitting in silence. But trains offer this luxury.

Sleep

Expanding on the reflection aspect, sometimes we just need to catch up on some heavily-desired sleep. The train can be a great place to grab a few winks before we start our busy day.
