Each major city is home to a couple of pretty unusual and strangely specific museums, and Saint Petersburg, Russia is no exception. If you want to take a break from exploring the classic art and history museums while in this city, make a stop at these three quirky spots.

The Russian Vodka Museum

A trip to Russia is incomplete if you don’t try some vodka, but how about visiting a museum that honors this beloved national drink? In addition to featuring exhibitions that explore the history of vodka, this museum also offers vodka tastings and guided tours.

Grand Maket Rossiya

Fans of miniature art will feel right at home at Russia’s largest model layout, which covers the area of 8,600 square feet. The main goal was to create a model that represents different regions of the Russian Federation, completed with replicas of actual buildings and moving rails.

Museum of Hygiene

Arguably the weirdest museum in Saint Petersburg, this institution had one goal in mind—educating people about the dangers of germs and filth. There are many bizarre objects on display, including one of Pavlov’s original dogs for some reason.
