Slovenia is one of Europe’s most underrated countries, but it’s worth the visit for its natural beauty alone. Its lakes are some of its most breathtaking natural wonders and here are three that deserve a spot on your bucket list if you ever find yourself in this charming country.

Lake Bled

Lake Bled is one of the first places that comes to mind when someone mentions Slovenia and it’s definitely its most Instagrammable attraction. Located close to the capital of Ljubljana, this scenic lake is surrounded by the Julian Alps from all sides, and you can take a boat ride to a tiny island with a historic church during your visit.

Lake Bohinj

Lake Bled may be the most popular attraction of this kind in Slovenia, but Lake Bohinj is actually the largest. It covers 790 acres in the heart of Triglav National Park, and the high mountain peaks are beautifully reflected in its tranquil waters.

Lake Jasna

Artificial Lakes in Slovenia are just as stunning as natural ones and Lake Jasna is one of the best. It consists of two interconnected lakes along the Pisnica River and you’ll know that you’ve successfully reached it once you spot the bronze statue of an Ibex standing on the rock.
