Sometimes Less Is More With Traveling

In this day and age, everyone seems to want to travel the world. Social media accounts and travel bloggers have allowed travel culture to thrive more than ever before, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. People seem obsessed with the idea of seeing as many countries and cities as they possibly can—but if you ask us, it’s important to tone things down a tad. Not with traveling per se—but with attempting to see as many places as possible. Quality is usually better than quantity, and that’s definitely true here.

One Place At a Time

What’s the point of seeing 20 countries if you barely spent any time in those places? Often travelers just want to hop from one place to the next, without actually getting to know the place they’re visiting. On one hand, it is possible to explore a city in one or two days. After all, you can just take a guided tour and see all of the city’s most legendary landmarks, right? Correct, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg.

Building Deep Connections

Sure, you can see a hundred cities on a superficial level, but you probably won’t build any deep connections with the location. To truly get to know a city, you need to wade beyond the sculptures and touristy attractions. If you spend a lot more time there, focusing on quality over quantity, you’ll “fall in love” with it on a deeper level.
