They say that change is as good as a holiday. If you ask us, we’d rather take the holiday! Vacations can be fun, but they can also be healing and restorative. Head to these magical places if you need some rejuvenation.

Yakushima Island, Japan

If you’ve ever seen the film Princess Mononoke, you’ve probably wished that you could roam in the magical forest. Well, you can! The woodlands were inspired by those on Yakushima Island where you can find the oldest and largest cedar tree in the world, Jōmon Sugi. It is said that the trees in this UNESCO World Heritage Site have healing properties, so why not take a stroll and feel the magic for yourself?

The Healing Hole, The Bahamas

If you’re searching for tranquility to recharge, you’ll find it at the Healing Hole in The Bahamas. Found in East Bimini, the freshwater pond can be accessed only by boat. The water is compromised of lithium, which treats mood disorders; magnesium which aids muscle function; and sulfur which is good for your skin.

The Dead Sea, Israel

Known as the Sea of Salt, the Dead Sea is the geographically lowest place on earth, and one of the most restorative. Mud from the lake is rich in minerals like magnesium, sodium, calcium, and potassium which can alleviate skin conditions like psoriasis and acne; while soaking in its salty waters can soothe arthritis and muscle pain.
