]]>For an area as lauded as Broadway, lying smack dab in the middle of Manhattan, it’s pretty crazy to think just how understated its theaters are. This is something that can be a bit of a shock to tourists who’ve never been to a Broadway show. They’re expecting to walk in to a massive auditorium, but instead most Broadway theaters are much more small and intimate.
However, this is actually a good thing instead of a bad thing. One of the reasons that Broadway has always been so appealing is that its viewers feel like they’re part of the show, and this is only possible with smaller theaters. In addition, each theater is tailor-made for a specific show, making the experience even more customized and one of a kind. It may throw you off to find Broadway shows so cozy and small, but you’ll be guaranteed to have the memory of a lifetime.

]]>Weirdly enough, when it comes to musicals, it’s not just about the music and the performance. There’s also a lot of history that goes into each musical, which is why the place that you see it actually does make a difference. For instance, The Phantom of the Opera first premiered at Her Majesty’s Theatre in the West End in 1986, and later on Broadway where it played at the Majestic Theater in 1988. It’s been showing at both locations ever since. For people that have a true appreciation for musicals and their origin, they may have no other option but to see it in London. Such is the case with so many other musicals.
But if you’re someone who appreciates musicals for just the music and not much else, then it really shouldn’t matter where you see it. Even if you do have a deep appreciation for the origin story of the musical, you’ll still have the time of your life seeing a musical at the place where it didn’t originally premiere.

It provides ample grassy terrain for folks to relax, walk around with their family, listen to a jazz band improvise, jog, or enjoy a hot dog!
Even if you know nothing about the Statue of Liberty, chances are you’ve seen what it looks like. You can easily visit this classic monument of Lady Liberty holding up her torch, and you even have the option to take an elevator up to her head!
It was once the tallest building in the world—and although it has long since lost that title, it’s no less historic. By visiting this iconic building, you’ll learn about its place in New York architecture history, and see some fascinating views in the process.
If you’re someone who enjoys musicals, we’d highly recommend checking out a Broadway show. Roam through Times Square and see which one tickles your fancy, from Phantom of the Opera, to Cats, to countless others!
