Cancun, Mexico, is considered a vacation paradise for a reason. This vibrant city does not only offers many activities to keep you entertained during your trip but also has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

If you find yourself in Cancun, we recommend visiting as many beaches as you can. But if that is not an option, here are the top three beaches you have to check out when visiting this beautiful place.

Playa Marlin

This beach will amaze you with its mesmerizing turquoise water and long stretches of white sand that call you to walk barefoot. According to experiences from tourists, Playa Marlin is a perfect spot for those who enjoy watersports and it offers great conditions for surfing and parasailing.

Playa Chac Mool

Playa Chac Mool offers an astonishing view that will give you the relaxing feel you are looking for when on vacation. It is also spacy, allowing you to have your peace and quiet when in the mood for that. Visitors also laud its cleanliness, warm water, and lack of currents.

Playa Delfines

Playa Delfines is probably the most recommended Cancun beach of them all. And it’s easy to see why.

The beach offers gorgeous surroundings, endless amenities, and several attractions to check out when out of the water, like the archaeological site El Rey that stands as a remainder of pre-Columbian Mayan culture. It is popular with both locals and tourists, who call it the most “photo-friendly” beach in Cancun due to its breathtaking landscape.

Cancun is best to visit from February to May when the weather there is wonderful.

Underwater Museum (MUSA)

This is one of the most extraordinary museum experiences that you can have. MUSA is unique because it’s completely underwater. If you want to visit, you will need scuba equipment or at least a snorkel. It’s located around 6 meters below and it has over 500 sculptures set in a unique environment. For non-swimmers, there are tours in glass-bottomed boats, so there is no reason to miss it at all.

Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres is an island located around 13 kilometers north of Cancun. Its name means “Women’s Island”. This island was considered sacred to the Ixchel, Mayan goddess of fertility, medicine, and happiness. It was believed that only she and her group of women were living on the island alone. When people from Spain later came to the island, they found lots of women statues, and they named the island. The island has gorgeous white sand beaches and pleasantly warm water. It’s a real paradise to visit!

Selvatica

Selvatica is an adventure park located in the middle of the forest. This area was formerly inhabited by Mayans and if you like adventure, then you will surely like ziplining, extreme canopy, and SUV rides through the jungle.

If you’re looking for a place where you can combine your passion for diving, art, and travel into one, you’ll feel right at home in Cancún. In addition to being a popular diving destination, this city in Mexico is home to the Underwater Museum of Art.

Museo Subacuático de Arte has been around since 2010, and it’s home to approximately 500 sculptures placed on the ocean floor. Most of them were created by Jason deCaires Taylor, but five other Mexican artists took part in this project.

Cancún’s Underwater Museum was started with a noble goal — saving the natural coral reefs in the surrounding area. Many of them suffered significant damage over the years, and this museum was supposed to provide an alternative destination for divers who put them in danger.

The underwater museum offers a series of diving tours departing from Isla Mujeres and Cancún, to both amateurs and certified divers. The scenery they can enjoy during the dive is certainly stunning, and the statues are being constantly transformed by nature that surrounds them.

If you fancy getting major holiday envy, check out the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun. It is an all-inclusive five star resort located on the beachfront.

The resort boasts multiple pools and most feature a bar. As it is all-inclusive, this means you can swim up to the bar and get a pina colada without actually having to leave the pool. Of course, when you do leave the pool, you’ll want to lie down on a sunbed and soak up the fiery Mexican sunshine.

The resort also boasts a ton of restaurants, all of which are included. There are sushi bars and cafes all over the resort, and if you fancy a special night with a Michelin star chef, you can reserve a spot at the hotel’s fanciest restaurant.

At night, there is plenty of entertainment. From outdoor karaoke, parties on the beach and an actual night club, guests are spoiled for choice. The resort is huge, so you’ll need to jump on board a complimentary buggy to get around — and it is always tempting to grab another cocktail on the way.

Still not convinced? Here are some enviable pics guests have taken at the resort.
