Ever watched a magical Disney film and wished you were living in it? Well, you actually can! Well, sort of. You can visit the locations that inspired famous Disney scenes, which is pretty much as close as it gets. Embark on a journey to these enchanting destinations and witness the real-world magic that inspired some of Disney’s most famous films.

Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris – The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Well, starting with this one is a must, as this real-life destination literally appears in the title of a Disney movie. Having taken almost 200 years to complete, this iconic French monument is a world-renowned piece of Gothic architecture. A true, not very Disney-like tragedy occurred in 2019, when the roof of the cathedral caught fire, resulting in terrible damage. But hey, good news: After five whole years, Notre Dame is set to complete its restoration process and reopen in December 2024. This means you could soon go there and act out some memorable Disney moments.

Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria – Sleeping Beauty

Did you know that Neuschwanstein Castle, located in the picturesque Bavarian Alps, was the real-life inspiration for Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in the classic Disney film? This enchanted castle, looking over mesmerizing views, was built by King Ludwig II at the end of the 19th century. If you happen to be in the area, go wander through its antique rooms and imagine yourself in a Disney fantasy.

Taj Mahal, India – Aladdin

The inspiration for the imaginary Sultan Palace in Aladdin came from a very real place: the Taj Mahal in Agra, India. Despite commonly being mistaken for a palace, the Taj Mahal is actually a super impressive tomb. Its building was initiated by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 in honor of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Looking at this remarkable architectural creation, constructed with white marble and enveloped by beautiful gardens, it’s not hard to imagine it as the basis for a Disney palace.

Step into the magical world of Disney, where dreams come true and enchantment awaits at every turn. With multiple theme parks around the globe, each offering its own unique experiences and attractions, the question arises: Which Disney theme park is the best? Let’s embark on an adventure to uncover the answer.

Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California

The place where it all began. This iconic park holds a special place in the hearts of Disney enthusiasts. From the classic Sleeping Beauty Castle to beloved attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain, Disneyland offers a nostalgic charm that captures the essence of Walt Disney’s vision.

Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, Florida

This park houses four main theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Magic Kingdom, with its iconic Cinderella Castle and timeless attractions like It’s a Small World and Haunted Mansion, embodies the essence of Disney magic. Epcot takes us on a journey of discovery and showcases the cultures of the world. Disney’s Hollywood Studios immerses us in the world of movies and entertainment, while Disney’s Animal Kingdom offers an immersive experience in nature and wildlife.

Disneyland Paris, France

Venturing across the pond, we find ourselves at Disneyland Paris, where a touch of European charm adds a unique flavor to the Disney experience. Sleeping Beauty Castle stands majestically in the center of the park, surrounded by a mix of classic Disney attractions and unique offerings like Ratatouille: The Adventure and Phantom Manor. The park’s proximity to Paris also allows visitors to explore the beauty of the city and its cultural landmarks.

Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea

In Asia, we encounter two parks that bring Disney magic to Japan in their distinct ways. Tokyo Disneyland mirrors the charm of its American counterpart, while Tokyo DisneySea offers a one-of-a-kind nautical-themed experience. With its stunning architecture, immersive lands, and elaborate shows, Tokyo DisneySea is often hailed as one of the most beautiful Disney parks in the world.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Lastly, we visit Hong Kong Disneyland, a park that may be smaller in size but is filled with Disney enchantment. From the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle to unique attractions like Mystic Manor and the Iron Man Experience, this park offers a delightful Disney experience in the vibrant city of Hong Kong.

So, which Disney theme park is the best?

The answer ultimately depends on your preferences and what you seek from a Disney adventure. Each park has its own charm, iconic attractions, and unique offerings. Whether it’s the nostalgia of Disneyland, the grandeur of Walt Disney World, the European flair of Disneyland Paris, the beauty of Tokyo DisneySea, or the magic of Hong Kong Disneyland, each park promises a memorable and enchanting experience.

Adventures by Disney recently announced a new tour that promises the ultimate Disney theme park experience. It includes a visit to 12 Disney theme parks on a private jet, a trip to some iconic world landmarks, and a luxury accommodation experience. The only catch? It costs $115,000.

Titled “Disney Parks Around The World,” the tour will take 24 days and cover six countries and nine locations: Anaheim, San Francisco, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Agra, Cairo, Paris, and Orlando. Besides experiencing Disney theme parks from all over the world, those who take part will also get to check out the Taj Mahal, Pyramids of Giza, and Eiffel Tower.

Among the perks are traveling in a “VIP-configured private jet,” staying in world-class hotels, having adventure guides and notable Disney experts, as well as “access to extraordinary opportunities not available to the public.”

While all of this sounds great, this is not the experience that casual Disney fans will rush to book. Instead, it is aimed at Disney superfans who want to take their vacation experience to a whole other level.

There are only 75 spots available, with the booking opening to the general public in late June. However, they will likely sell out quickly, as was the case with similar tours offered by Adventures by Disney in the past.

When many people think about Orlando, Florida, the first thing that usually comes to mind is that it’s the home of Disney and Universal. If you’re someone who loves theme parks, there’s pretty much no question that Orlando is the place to be—because it has endless parks to check out. Whether you want to visit Harry Potter world, Disney’s Magical Kingdom, or Universal’s Islands of Adventure, you can’t go wrong. But is there anything else to do in Orlando?

Not Exactly a Place To Live For Good

The thing about Orlando is that it’s not exactly a place where many families live. The previous statement should obviously be taken with a hefty grain of salt. Thousands of families obviously live in Orlando, but compared to other cities of similar stature, the number of families is shockingly low. This is because Orlando wasn’t exactly designed to be a family town to live, rather a place for families to visit and enjoy an exhilarating and magical vacation.

So if you’re thinking about moving to Orlando, perhaps you should think twice about the matter. Because as exciting as the theme parks are, you may find that they can get old after a while. You may also find that they’re insanely expensive and that it’s not much use living close to them if you’re breaking the bank every single time you go to one.

Pirates of the Caribbean best beware because Disney has announced its newest cruise to set sail.

The media company already has five ships in its fleet, with Disney Magic having been the first on the water in 1998. The newest addition has been named Disney Treasure and will be the second of three “Triton Class” ships.

Inspired by the theme of adventure, Disney Treasure will draw on architectural design motifs from around the world, including Asia, North Africa, and even the fictional land of Agrabah from Aladdin. The ship’s Grand Hall is set to be gilded in blue and gold, giving a royal feel.

“At the heart of every adventure, there’s a treasure, and we can’t wait for you to create memories aboard this spectacular ship,” said Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, Josh D’Amaro, while at the D23 Expo.

Disney Treasure is only scheduled to set sail in 2024, and will likely cruise around the Bahamas like her sisters. However, it has been announced that Disney Wonder will sail out of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane in Australia, as well as Auckland, New Zealand, between October 2023 and February 2024.

To quote the little mermaid, we want to be part of that world!

Travel destinations aren’t always about where you can find the most beautiful architecture, the most provocative art, or the most stunning nature trails. Sometimes what you really want to do is to go to some good old-fashioned theme parks. When it comes to Orlando, they’ve got tons of them. And they’re all pretty amazing if you ask us. However, if you’re looking to go to more than one, it’ll cost an arm and leg.

Walt Disney World

The main crux of Orlando’s various theme parks boil down to these two major corporations: Disney and Universal. You can buy tickets to Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, or Epcot. Yes, those are four separate parks, and they’re all expensive. But whichever you choose, know that you’ll be dancing with real-sized Goofys and Jafars and your kids will love you for it.

Universal Studios

If you want to go the Universal route, you can visit Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, or Volcano Bay. These are also incredibly exciting amusement parks, which also include Harry Potter World, if that’s your kind of thing.

Is It Worth It?

So basically there’s no shortage of things to do in Orlando, whether you have kids, a romantic partner, or just want to go solo. If you spend money on one park, it won’t set you back that much—if you want to see other parks too, that’s when things start to get expensive. If it’s something you can afford, you certainly won’t be disappointed.

Disney has prepared something truly special for all the Winnie the Pooh fans out there. The Winnie the Pooh treehouse in Nutley, England is on Airbnb and you can rent it for $104 per night! This is a part of the celebration of the 95th anniversary of Winnie the Pooh.

The house has been designed by Disney illustrator Kim Raymond, who has been drawing Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, and others for more than 30 years. She was inspired by the original artwork by the book author E. H. Shepard.

“I have been illustrating Winnie the Pooh for thirty years, and I continue to be inspired by the classic decorations of E.H. Shepard and the more recent Disney stories. The ‘Bearbnb’ is a unique experience that brings the charm of Pooh to life for fans, whilst honoring the original adventures that have been so important to many people for 95 years,” Raymond said in a press release.

The house is located in Ashdown Forest. It can take up to four guests at a time and the guests will also get a tour of the original Hundred Acre Wood where they can try foods inspired by Pooh’s “hunny”. The house can be booked here for only two nights—September 24th and 25th.

While many people think of Florida’s Disney World as a children’s theme park, it happens to be a great place for taking a girls’ trip. Disney World is perfect for bachelorette parties, spring breaks, birthdays, or reunions and you’ll find everything any girls’ trip needs like bars, restaurants, shopping, seasonal festivals, and plenty of entertainment. Here’s everything you need to know about planning a girls’ vacay to “the Most Magical Place of Earth”.

Where to Stay

Your best bet is to stay at a Disney World Resort hotel which is full of perks like complimentary transportation and Disney-themed accommodations. There are budget-friendly accommodations like Disney’s Pop Century Resort as well as lush resorts like Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

What to Do

Since you’ve probably come to Disney for the theme parks, make the most of your stay by getting a Park Hopper ticket which allows you to visit more than one park per day. Also, don’t miss out on the shopping, dining, and entertainment district at Disney Springs. For trips that last longer than three days, spend some time at the hotel’s spa or pool.

Where to Eat

Disney is known for its iconic treats like Dole Whips, corn dogs, and funnel cake, so be sure to enjoy these delicious foods. For sit-down-themed options, the best ones are Walt Disney World Resorts’ Cinderella’s Royal Table and Be Our Guest and Animal Kingdom’s Satu’li Canteen, Nomad Lounge, and Tamu Tamu Refreshments. Epcot has dining from 11 countries across the globe, so there’s something for everyone.

If you’re a Disney fan looking forward to the highly-anticipated Frozen sequel, Japan is the perfect place to be. Adorable cafés around the country are celebrating its release by coming up with menus inspired by our favorite characters from this Disney classic.

Culinary Disney collaborations are all the rage in Japan, but they really went the extra mile to create this one. Even the foods that don’t specifically look like Elsa or Anna gave us a major Frozen vibe thanks to the color palette reminiscent of these characters.

All of the items look pretty delicious and feature amazing references to the original movie that melted our hearts six years ago. As if that wasn’t enough, you can even order drinks inspired by this Disney hit, including delicious milk tea with amazing character design.

Oh My Cafe Tokyo is leading this trend, and they’ll have Frozen items on the menu until January 13th. Cafés in Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka from the Café & Dining franchise are also joining in, and so are the Gelato Pique Café branches in Tokyo and Kyoto.

As creative as the Disney studio team is, they also drew amazing inspiration from some of the most out-of-this-world locations around the globe. These are some of the destinations that inspired some of Disney’s immensely popular movies.

Alsace, France

The creators of Beauty and the Beast took two small villages, Riquewihr and Ribeauville, in France’s Alsace region as an inspiration for Belle’s small home town in the movie. All fans of the classic can visit this real-life destination and walk a mile in Belle’s pretty shoes!

The Forbidden City

Mulan lived during the Chinese Han Dynasty, somewhere between 200 BC and 200 AD. Although the Forbidden City was erected 1,200 years later, it served as an example for animators to design the Emperor’s residence.

Serengeti

Most of the The Lion King takes place in a wide plain that’s closely reminiscent of Serengeti in Tanzania. This place is well-known as a check-point in animal migrations and, of course, for its large population of lions.

Neuschwanstein Castle

The beautiful Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria is the inspiration behind the Sleeping Beauty’s castle, which was later adapted into the famous Disney castle logo that appears at the beginning of every movie from this production.
