It’s National Prosecco Week ALL week y’all, and as it turns out, I am helping promote one of my favorite sparkling wines. Si! E’ certo! Last night we had a little Asian appetizer and this extra dry Prosecco from @villasandi 🥂 now what you may not know is that extra dry doesn’t mean it’s going to feel like your lips are sticking to your teeth. Nope. It refers to the level of sweetness of the wine or residual sugar. Nothing like a cold sparkling wine to cool down on a hot summer day. The pool doesn’t hurt either! 🥂 my bubble of choice lately has been Prosecco. Muscat wine is from the Muscat Blanc grape. In Alsace it is one of the 4 noble grapes and is often planted in Grand Cru vineyards. Flavor profile is lemon, orange blossom, green pear, and honeysuckle. It’s a fabulous dry wine that is often served as an aperitif. In Alsace, a classic pairing is with asparagus. I met these fun folks at the Dallas Farmers Market last weekend representing @lostdrawcellars a Texas Winery in the Hill Country. But, what you should know is, the vineyards are in the Texas High Plains. Why is this important? Because that is where the best Texas fruit is grown. I think it’s a winning combination. I tried the Marsanne, Rose, and Red blend of Tempranillo- can’t remember what the other grape is.
