Most countries have a few unique menu items that can’t be found anywhere else since palettes vary greatly in different parts of the world.

McPlant Burger: Denmark and Sweden

Because there are so many vegans and vegetarians in Scandinavia, McDonald’s rolled out its new veggie burger made from BeyondMeat in Denmark and Sweden before the rest of the world. They served as the testing grounds for this new burger which might now be introduced everywhere else.

Oreo Affogatto: South Korea

In South Korea, you can get a twist on an iconic Italian treat: an affogato with Oreo. Affogato refers to a scoop of ice cream, usually vanilla, with a shot of espresso on top. This delicious combination of hot and cold, sweet and bitter is amped up by McDonald’s signature airy whipped ice cream (like frozen cool whip, more or less) and Oreo crumbles.

Poutine: Canada

A classic Canadian dish, poutine is available at lots of different restaurants and diners, and McDonald’s is no exception. Poutine involved french fries with gravy and cheese curds on top. With the iconic thin McDonald’s fries, their poutine is certainly worth checking out if you have an extended stay in Canada.
