If you decide to visit Malta with your whole family, this stunning Mediterranean island country won’t leave you disappointed. From beautiful beaches to amazing water parks, Malta is home to several spots you can visit with your kids, and these three are a good place to start.

Popeye Village

Popeye Village was originally built as a set for Robert Altman’s 1980 film Popeye, and it went on to become one of Malta’s top attractions. It was later transformed into a small theme park, but its colorful wooden houses and the nearby harbor are equally fun for visitors of all ages.

Splash and Fun Water Park

Despite being home to countless beaches, water parks are a huge hit in Malta, and none of them is more impressive than this one. In addition to water slides and pools, Splash and Fun Water Park also offers a lazy river, a wave pool, a food court, and a playground.

Malta National Aquarium

If you’re looking for a place where your kids can learn more about marine life and conservation, Malta National Aquarium is a place to be. It offers over 40 fish tanks with around 175 species of fish, reptiles, amphibians, and insects, and your little ones can also enjoy fun and educational interactive exhibits during your visit.

If you plan to spend your vacation on an island, and you prefer the Mediterranean Sea, Malta may be the right choice for you. Among beautiful beaches, there is a lot more to discover. Some of them are diving tours, cruise tours, but also interesting architecture. If you have a hard time choosing what to do and what to visit, here is a list of three very popular places where you can go and have great memories to bring back home.

Mdina

Mdina is the former capital of Malta. It is a fortified city in the northern part of Malta. Its history started in the 8th century when it was founded by Phoenician settlers under the name Maleth. It served as the island’s capital from antiquity to the medieval period. That fact tells a lot regarding the architecture that you can see there. Its beauty relies on many medieval buildings and baroque-styled architecture dating from the 17th century. The interesting thing to visit nearby is also St Paul’s Catacombs.

Blue Lagoon and Comino Island

This is one of the most popular places in Malta. Crystal clear water, sandy beach, and beautiful landscape of rocks that surround it is not something that you want to miss out on. Interesting thing is that its official name is Salt Cay and is also known as “real” Bahamas. If you feel curious, Comino Island is nearby with a lot fewer people, cars, and very rich nature.

Gozo

Another very interesting island in the Maltese archipelago is Gozo. If you don’t like crowded places Gozo is the right place to go. Some of the interesting sights that you can see there are Ggantija Neolithic temples and its old villages. If you want to see most of it, you should stay at least two days.

Malta is a small island-state, which means the majority of the products in the country are imported. However, there are a number of unique items produced in Malta, and they are difficult to find elsewhere. If you’re after a truly special souvenir gift from Malta, here are the items to seek out.

While vacationing on a Mediterranean island is a dream come true for most people, for some reason, Malta still isn’t on most people’s radars. Well, that’s about to change because we’re here to offer a few reasons why you should visit Malta.

Malta is a Beachy Paradise

Let’s start with the obvious: Malta is a Mediterranean island, for Pete’s sake! With sun 300 days of the year, clear blue water, plenty of beaches to choose from, and amazing scuba diving, Malta is paradise.

Malta Has History

Hailing from the dawn of civilization and having been ruled and affected by the Arabs, Normans, Aragonese, Phoenicians, Carthaginians, and Romans, Malta has plenty of megalithic temples and fascinating history to explore.

Malta Is Affordable

If you’ve never heard of Malta, there’s one plus side to that: its lack of international reputation is partially responsible for why visiting Malta is 20% cheaper than visiting mainland Europe, including food and hotels.

Malta Is Convenient

Don’t have a week of vacation days to burn? No worries. Malta is only 317 square kilometers, so you can enjoy it in a few days without feeling like you’re missing anything important. Plus, Malta’s official language is English, so you don’t have to worry about fussing with a travel dictionary.

Have you ever heard of the island of Malta before?

This island, located in the Mediterranean Sea between Italy and North Africa, has a fascinating history and is one of the most picturesque locations on Earth.

Malta is defined by a mix of various cultural influences, which was caused by the island’s location in the middle of various trade routes. The Greeks, Romans, Normans, Arabs, French, and British have all ruled the island throughout its history before it became independent in 1964.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BoZMMcln6X0/

You can see this cultural mix in the island’s architecture, gastronomy, and music. Be sure to try snacks like the Italian-influenced pastizzi and listen to a band play ghana, Malta’s traditional folk music.

Of course, it would be silly to write this article without mentioning just how beautiful the island is in and of itself.

The island plays host to a stunning coastline that provides picturesque beaches and interesting geological formations to visitors. The Blue Grotto is one of Malta’s most beautiful spots, consisting of a collection of natural sea caves that are only accessible via boat.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BxkMdklnoQM/

Malta might not be as famous as other Mediterranean island destinations such as Ibiza and Santorini, but you are assured to have a marvelous time in this captivating place.

Malta might not be as famous as other Mediterranean island destinations such as Ibiza and Santorini, but you are assured to have a marvelous time in this captivating place.
