Rose Island (Roseninsel) is a small island in Lake Starnberg. It is a site of a royal villa that was frequently used by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Blutenburg Castle

You can catch the 15-minute show for free every day at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. An additional 5 p.m. show is added in the summer.

Get a Walking Tour Through Munich

After Glockenspiel, your next move should be to take part in a free walking tour through Munich. Most of them start from Marienplatz and are available in English. They feature knowledgeable guides who will introduce you to the history of the city and show you its most important landmarks.

The Englischer Garten

Perhaps the most famous park in Munich is the Englischer Garten. This big park offers visitors to enjoy its secret hidden corners. You should check out the Japanese teahouse at the southern end of the park for a traditional tea ceremony. Otherwise, you can head to the Greek-style Monopteros temple on the hill, which offers a magnificent view of the city.
