Since the fountain’s day of conceivement there have been many sculptures and improvements added throughout the centuries resulting in the Trevi Fountain we have grown to love today.
Trevi Fountain’s magic has been featured in several films, such as Three Coins in the Fountain and Roman Holiday, but it is not the only fountain that could make your wishes come true.
If you can’t make it to Rome, there are gorgeous fountains all over the world perfect for wishing, including The Fountain of Wealth in Suntec City, Singapore (the largest fountain in the world), Gefion Fountain in Copenhagen, and the Peterhof Fountains in St. Petersburg.
The actual tradition of throwing coins into fountains began centuries ago when ancient Romans explorers would throw coins into fountains in order to favor the water gods before long sea voyages!
