Bangkok is a buzzing city full of hidden treasures. If the Red Light District isn’t really your cup of tea, you can also visit some of Thailand’s most beautiful temples. Here are 5 you can’t miss.

Wat Arun

Wat Arun, otherwise known as the “Temple of the Darn,” overlooks the Mae Nam Chao Praya. You can climb the main prang to see the views, and the inside is decadently decorated with ceramic tiles and porcelain.

Wat Traimit

Inside the Wat Traimit, you will find the biggest golden statue in the world. The 3-meter-tall Buddha statue is worth over $250 million. Entrance is only $1.25 though.

Wat Saket

Wat Saket sits on the Golden Mount, which you can climb up if you choose. Inside you will find a chapel and library open to visitors.

Wat Pho

The Wat Pho is one of the most famous temples in the country. A 46-meter Buddha sits at the temple’s core, and the interior of the temple is decorated beautifully.

Wat Suthat

The interior of Wat Suthat is filled with stunning murals and architecture. It sits next to the “Giant Swing” (Sao Ching-Cha), so if you’re walking by, you can’t really miss it!
