Unlike most other African countries, Mali is home to a relatively small number of national parks, but that doesn’t make them any less impressive. If you ever find yourself in this country in West Africa, here are three national parks that you should consider checking out during your visit.

Bafing National Park

This national park forms the Bafing Biosphere together with two more national parks in its close proximity—Kouroufing and Wongo. It was established in 2000, and covers an area of 1,900 square miles, mostly consisting of woodlands. Bafing is known for being the only protected area for chimpanzees in this part of Mali.

Wongo National Park

Just like the previous national park, Wongo is part of the Bafing Biosphere and it’s known for its dedication to the conservation of chimpanzees. This national park is also home to the artificial Lake Manantali, but the park itself is still in the early stages of development, with no organized tourist activities on its premises.

Boucle du Baoulé National Park

Boucle du Baoulé was established in 1982, which makes it Mali’s oldest national park. It’s part of UNESCO’s Bouce du Baoulé Biosphere Reserve, and it’s worth the visit for its prehistoric rock art and tombs, in addition to its diverse flora and fauna, scattered across its dry, lightly-wooded savannah.

One of the greatest parts of traveling is getting to connect with people from around the world. Being in different countries allows one to learn about different cultures and lifestyles, all while interacting with the locals. That said, some countries count their people as one of their best features due to just how friendly they are.

Each year, Booking.com releases its list of the 10 Most Welcoming Cities on Earth. 2023’s addition includes many little cities you may never have heard of, never mind considered traveling to.

“This year’s Most Welcoming Places on Earth span five continents and feature hidden coastal gems, rural destinations surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, and even a bustling Latin American metropolis,” the online travel agency revealed. “They have all been identified based on the share of accommodation partners receiving a Traveller Review Award 2023.”

According to Booking.com, points are earned from little things like being shown personal attention to detail when checking in or receiving helpful recommendations about where to explore.

The top spot on the list went to the town of Polignano a Mare in Italy. The little town on the south Adriatic coastline is famous for cliff-diving and a picturesque restaurant situated in a grotto called Grotta Palazzese.

Hualien City in Taiwan claimed second place, followed by San Sebastián in Spain, Dresden in Germany, Klaipeda in Lithuania, York in England, Ushuaia in Argentina, Porto De Galinhas in Brazil, Mexico City in Mexico, and the Gold Coast in Australia.

If you plan to spend your vacation on an island, and you prefer the Mediterranean Sea, Malta may be the right choice for you. Among beautiful beaches, there is a lot more to discover. Some of them are diving tours, cruise tours, but also interesting architecture. If you have a hard time choosing what to do and what to visit, here is a list of three very popular places where you can go and have great memories to bring back home.

Mdina

Mdina is the former capital of Malta. It is a fortified city in the northern part of Malta. Its history started in the 8th century when it was founded by Phoenician settlers under the name Maleth. It served as the island’s capital from antiquity to the medieval period. That fact tells a lot regarding the architecture that you can see there. Its beauty relies on many medieval buildings and baroque-styled architecture dating from the 17th century. The interesting thing to visit nearby is also St Paul’s Catacombs.

Blue Lagoon and Comino Island

This is one of the most popular places in Malta. Crystal clear water, sandy beach, and beautiful landscape of rocks that surround it is not something that you want to miss out on. Interesting thing is that its official name is Salt Cay and is also known as “real” Bahamas. If you feel curious, Comino Island is nearby with a lot fewer people, cars, and very rich nature.

Gozo

Another very interesting island in the Maltese archipelago is Gozo. If you don’t like crowded places Gozo is the right place to go. Some of the interesting sights that you can see there are Ggantija Neolithic temples and its old villages. If you want to see most of it, you should stay at least two days.

Summer may be on its way out, but that doesn’t mean our desire for beach vacations has disappeared. Give us warm weather, white sandy beaches, and crystal blue water, and we’re happy! If gazing out onto a body of water is your idea of tranquility, you need to add these destinations to your bucket list.

Devil’s Bay, British Virgin Islands

This bay is so gorgeous that it almost feels as though it was created as a deal with the devil himself. If pure turquoise water is what you’re after, Devil’s Bay on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands is the place to head to.

Crater Lake, United States

Part of what makes Oregon’s Crater Lake so unique is that it fills the cavity of a sunken volcano. Something else which makes it unique is that it has no incoming streams or water. As a result, the lake’s water is as clear as you can get! At a depth of 1,943 feet, it is the deepest lake in the United States and a haven for scuba divers with its deep blue hue.

Five Flower Lake, China

Within the Jiuzhaigou National Park in China’s Sichuan province lies the exquisite Five Flower Lake. So clear is the water that visitors can view the fallen tree trunks which have created a criss-cross pattern on the bottom.
