]]>The main square of Brussels, the Grand Place is absurdly beautiful. With its cobblestone ground and stunning gold-trimmed buildings, it’s seriously breath-taking. In fact, it’s even been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Plus, it’s free, so there’s absolutely no reason not to go check it out.
The Atomium is a massive landmark that stands at over 100 meters tall and has become a symbol for Brussels after it was built for the Brussels World’s Fair in 1958. It represents the composition of an iron crystal and showcases the importance of science. Pretty cool, huh?
One of the more humorous landmarks you’ll visit in Brussels, the Mannekin Pis is a statue of a little boy taking a tinkle into the fountain below. It’s a major symbol of the city, is free to visit, and will definitely give you a laugh.

Waterloo was the site of Napoleon’s final defeat. Visit the town and climb up Lion’s Mound for a view of the battlefield. It’s not a difficult climb and history buffs will love the experience.

You can’t go to Belgium without visiting the Mannekin Pis. This bronze statue of a small boy taking a wee is well-known throughout the world. Tourists love it although it’s not a big deal to residents.
Be inspired by the street art in Doel. The village is dying but street artists have created colorful art on the crumbling buildings. It’s a dystopian but fascinating sight.

Delirium Cafe is associated with a Belgian brewery and holds the Guinness World Record for having the largest number of beers on tap of any bar in the world. In January 2004, this number stood at 2,004, but has now grown to include over 3,000 draft beers. If you can think of a beer, it’s probably available here.
Beer lovers in Brussels must put this unique and impressive bar on their list of places to visit!
