We completely understand why millions of people want to see Yellowstone, the Rocky Mountains, and the Grand Canyon each year, but how about all the other amazing national parks in the U.S.? There are some beautiful places around the country that may be closer to you and they’re typically not crowded like the more popular national parks. Here are our three favorites.

National Park of American Samoa

This tundra in the Pacific Northwest is one of the places with the most snow on the planet. The landscape is amazing and if you have a chance to visit, definitely do!

Virgin Islands National Park

The Virgin Islands are among the most beautiful places in the Caribbean, and if you didn’t know, over half of Saint John island is a national park! What more can you want?

What’s the longest you’ve ever spent on a plane?

I haven’t broken the ten hour mark yet, but I find myself going crazy after just a couple of hours inside of a plane. There are flights that last a lot longer now, as planes have gained the ability to travel farther and farther without stopping.

Here are the world’s longest flights. Could you make it on them?

Newark, USA to Singapore: 18 hours, 30 minutes

If you want to fly from the New York area directly to Singapore, your only option is also the longest flights on Earth. Traveling nearly 10,000 miles without stopping, you’ll spend most of a full day on a Singapore Airlines Airbus A350.

Auckland, New Zealand to Doha, Qatar: 18 hours

New Zealand is one of the most remote inhabited places on Earth, and it takes a long time to get there from almost anywhere. If you want to get to Qatar’s biggest city from the Kiwi capital city, you’ll be on a Qatar Airways plane for 18 consecutive hours.

Perth, Australia to London, England: 17 hours, 20 minutes

Isn’t it weird to think about how Australia and England are so far apart despite once being united under the same crown? Flying from this west coast city in Australia to the English capital on a Qantas Boeing Dreamliner isn’t for the faint of heart.

Auckland, New Zealand to Dubai, UAE: 17 hours, 15 minutes

It takes nearly as long to go to Dubai from Auckland as it does to go to Doha. Would you last for this amount of time on an Emirates plane, even if it were in first class?
