Zanzibar might not be on your travel list, but you might consider adding it sooner than later. This archipelago in the Indian Ocean has everything you might need for a relaxing vacation while providing various other attractions, including plenty of opportunities for water activities. Here are some of the reasons you should consider visiting Zanzibar.

Beautiful Beaches

Zanzibar’s beaches alone should be enough to convince you to visit the archipelago. The white sand, clear and warm water, intriguing marine life, and more make them among the best in the world. On top of that, here you can find some of the best snorkeling in the Indian Ocean.

Perfect Weather

You can’t enjoy the beaches if there are no sun and clear skies, right? Well, you won’t have to worry about that in Zanzibar. The weather here is perfect almost all year round, with a lot of sunshine and a low probability of rain. However, if you don’t want to risk it, visit at some point between July through September.

Fascinating Stone Town of Zanzibar

Stone Town of Zanzibar is located on the archipelago’s biggest island Unguja. The old part of the island’s main settlement Zanzibar City, Stone Town is known for its unique architecture that was influenced by Swahili culture and mixed with elements from Arabian, Persian, Indian, and European styles. UNESCO designated Stone Tow as a World Heritage Site in 2000.

Jozani-Chwaka National Park

Zanzibar’s Jozani Chwaka National Park has a fascinating flora and fauna that is definitely worth checking out. You’ll find examples of mangroves, tropical forests, and coral rug forests and probably encounter some animal species you can’t see anywhere else. Who doesn’t love unique restaurants? Eating delicious food in unusual places with stunning views is something everyone enjoys! One such place is The Rock restaurant on the stunning island of Zanzibar. This island is one of the most popular places in Africa and the rock is Zanzibar’s most interesting restaurant.

Located on a small islet just 50 meters of the south-eastern coast off the island, this magnificent place will leave you breathless. The islet was a fishing post for decades but back in 2010, it was turned into a small restaurant that instantly became a world hit! Now, it attracts thousands of tourists annually so if you would like to experience this place be sure to book a table in advance.

The marvelous setting of the restaurant overlooks the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean is one of the most romantic places on the eastern African shores. At night it’s even more beautiful, providing you with an excellent view of the magical African sky.

As Zanzibar is famous for its unique cuisine it’s almost unnecessary to say that the food at the Rock is heavenly. Serving a wide variety of local seafood dishes, this stunning restaurant provides a great all-around experience.

A jewel on the Indian Ocean that smells like cinnamon and vanilla … It is believed that Zanzibar’s first inhabitants were people from the Bantu tribe, so the island got its name because “Zanzibar” literally translates to “the land of the black people.”

Zanzibar is the largest candy producer in the world, and when there, you can pick your own coffee. You can also find huge plantations of mangos, oranges, grapefruits, bananas and pineapples all over the island.

The island offers miles of long beaches with the finest white sand with coconut palm trees, where only the waves of the ocean break the silence.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz6CH_Ug9R_/

The only city that exists on this island is Stone Town. This city has changed very little over the last 200 years and is the cultural center of Zanzibar. Its countless interwoven narrow streets, lively markets, countless mosques and large Arab houses with luxurious wooden doors, just make the first impression of this city unreal.  UNESCO even protected it as one of the hundred most important cities in the world.

Visiting Zanzibar might be one of the best things you do in your life, not to mention you’ll have a new claim to fame as having visited the place Freddie Mercury was born.

Your big day is arranged, and now it is the time to plan your honeymoon. Do you want to avoid the ultimate cliché destinations such as Maldives, Bora-Bora, Paris, Egypt etc.? No problem. Have you thought about Zanzibar?

Zanzibar is an archipelago in East Africa and it is the semi-autonomous region of Tanzania. There are numerous small islands, but the two biggest ones are Unguja and Pemba. While Unguja has the prettiest, most romantic beaches with turquoise water and white sand, Pemba and the tiny islands offer breathtaking underwater adventures with colorful fish and coral reefs.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BiUh4xCgaDm/?tagged=pembaisland

Zanzibar is warm all year long, with daily temperatures between 28 and 32 Celsius and night-time lows between 20 and 25 Celsius. It has equal days and nights, 12-hours each, all that thanks to its proximity to Equator.

If you are considering traveling to this East African destination, you should know that the month of February is the most humid, while in March and May the days are mostly rainy.

If you love eating, you should know that the Zanzibar dishes are a marvelous mixture of the Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine, which equals to yummy spices. It’s not for nothing that it’s called The Spice Island.

Zanzibar is home to countless beautiful beaches, but Nakupenda is truly special since it consists of a long stretch of sand in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
