Barafundle Bay, Pembrokeshire
This beach is a hidden gem, regarded as one of the most family-friendly beaches in Europe. Despite its massive sand dunes, rock pools and clear blue water to swim, it is not known by the masses, so it rarely gets crowded. This is one of the best Blue Flag beaches in Wales, so well worth the visit.
Dinas Dinlle Beach, Gwynedd
This beach in Northern Wales is known for its watersports and beach activities. Whether you are interested in diving, wind-surfing, or a romantic horse ride along the beach, this is great for the adventure lover. This beach is more well known, so you will find a wealth of interesting hotels and hostels to stay.
Langland Bay, Gower
This beach is particularly popular with families, because of the lifeguard service between May and September. It also has great facilities, including wheelchair access, toilets and showers. Stroll along the sands or take a scenic hike to Gower Peninsula. The beach is also good for paddleboarding and surfing.
Oxwich Bay, Gower Peninsula
This scenic beach offers soft sands and a clear blue sea. The area is stunning and perfect for nature walks and trails. It is also a dog-friendly beach, making it popular with families. This is a popular beach in Wales, so during peak season, it is worth heading over to the east side. A 30-minute walk east will take you to some great picnic spots, as well as enjoying some wildlife on the way.
Llandudno North Shore, Conwy
This beach is packed full of surrounding history and culture. Take a walk along the Victorian pier, enjoy traditional music at the bandstand, and step back in time for a Punch and Judy performance. This beach can get quite busy in vacation season, as it is a well known holiday resort.
