Sapporo, Japan
Sapporo, capital of the Hokkaido region of Japan, has a yearly Snow Festival which makes it a perfect winter destination. During this festival, artists create giant sculptures entirely of snow that you can view. You can also go to the local Sapporo beer brewery which produces one of the most popular Japanese beers, walk around the Christmas-lit parks, and go skiing.
Lake Bled, Slovenia
This lake is especially beautiful in winter, reflecting the surrounding snowy mountains and pine greenery. You can stay in the small town on the island in the middle of the lake, where a famous church which is said to bring good luck to married couples rests. You can also ski and discover the surrounding natural water and rock formations.
Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina
This glacial national park houses one of the very last glaciers which is still growing. You can visit, take a boat tour for a bigger view, or climb in its ice caves at the northern end.
