Traveling the most visited city in Italy and feeling your stomach growl? It’s easy to find a place to stop in for a bite, but not all pizza is created equally. We’ve put together a list of pizzerias that will truly make your need for cheese disappear.

Pizza Zizza

A ten-minute walk from the Vatican Museum is this small shop (only four tables outside) that is sure to please the eye and mouth. You need to get their pizza sampler which comes with at least 2 slices of 7 of their best pies, best for sharing with a partner and then deciding which one is the best. They have a wide variety, so if you are vegetarian you can request the vegetarian sampler. Pair with their red beer and a tiramisu cup after if you have room! Be sure to go earlier in the day rather than later as they tend to sell out.

CasaManco

If you don’t think you can handle the sampler platter from Zizza, you can try samples of pizza from the friendly owners. CasaManco is known for their innovative pizza toppings including French Onion Soup (caramelized onions and gruyere cheese). Their crust is so good, diners say they can eat it plain. It’s known for being affordable, delicious, and attracts repeat diners.

Pizzeria Italia dal 1987

Two words. Nutella Pizza. The long line here is worth the wait as you can choose from a variety of savory and sweet pizza slices like prosciutto and fig or smoked salmon and shrimp. This pizzeria is known for their cold pizza, which may turn some people off, but their flavors and textures are so powerful it tastes even better after it cools off!
