If you’ve done any sort of research regarding the most beautiful hikes and trails that exist in the world, you may have come across the Inca Trail. Also known as the path that leads to one of the seven modern wonders of the world, Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail is one of the most popular tourist destinations on this planet. There’s no doubt that if you go there, you’ll see some wonderful things. But here’s something that you know before you go—it’s not an easy trek.

There are different versions of the hike you can take. The long one, that takes roughy a few days to complete, and the shorter one, which you can do in a day. However, even if you do take the short one, don’t think for one second that it’ll be a walk in the park. You’ll be walking on a steadily steep incline throughout much of the distance, and if you’re not in good shape, you’ll need to bring your “A-game”.

We don’t say this for shaming purposes. We merely seek to advise you if you’re thinking of going. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with a little challenge, and a hard hike can be a great thing. Not to mention the fact that you’ll be treated to some of the most gorgeous views in the entire world. If you’ve gotten this far and you’re still intrigued, then what are you waiting for?
