The Malibu Barbie Café has Just Shot Up to the Top of Our Bucket Lists

If you’re not excited about the Barbie movie coming out this summer, are you okay?

For the first time in the doll’s 64-year history, she will be the subject of a live-action film. Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, and Ncuti Gatwa are just some of the famous faces bringing Barbie and Ken to life, while Will Ferrell is set to play the CEO of the toy company.

In anticipation of the film, which hits theaters in July, a Barbie café is coming to New York City and Chicago.

The idea belongs to Bucket Listers which is no stranger to bringing our favorite characters to life. These are the guys who have created pop-up cafés inspired by the Golden Girls, Blockbuster, and Bad Blood by Taylor Swift.

And now, Malibu Barbie is getting her turn.

The restaurant will have a 1970s beachside feel and be set within her California dream house. Expect loads of pink, brunch favorites, and other casual food created by Becky Brown of MasterChef fame.

The pop-up is scheduled to open on May 17 in New York, and in Chicago on June 7. Tickets go on sale on April 19.
