In the last few years, we have seen the rise of hiking as one of the favorite pastimes of people all around the world. And it’s understandable: hiking offers great health benefits, relieves stress and lets you enjoy the beauty of nature.

There are many hiking trails in the world (in a way every footpath is a hiking trail) but not many are as famous as the magnificent Inca Trail. Its fame is very well earned since not many hiking trails offer one of the New Seven World Wonders as its final stop.

The Inca trail is a hiking trail in Peru that consists of three different and overlapping trails that lead the hiker through famous Inca sights in the Peruvian Andes, culminating with the famous Inca citadel Machu Picchu.

Historically, much of the trail was constructed by the Inca civilization connecting important settlements, which is why a large proportion of the trail is paved.

The trail offers the visitor an epic journey in the Andes spanning through different terrains and breathtaking scenes of nature. Also, think of the award that awaits you at the end as a prize for enduring the physical part of the trip – the astonishing views of Machu Picchu.
