Hot off the back of its Sicilian escape, The White Lotus will be heading south for its next installment. The creators of the cult anthology series have chosen Thailand as the location for Season 3, and with its magnificent beaches, it’s easy to see why.

It is not yet known where in the country filming will take place, but Bangkok, Koh Samui, and Chiang Mai are strong contenders. If you’re planning to venture that way, here are some things not to miss.

Floating Markets

Thailand is famous for its floating markets. Here, vendors sell everything from fresh fruit to handmade souvenirs from their boats. The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is perhaps the most famous, having appeared in the James Bond film, The Man with the Golden Gun. Photograph the colorful boats, taste the boat noodles, and don’t forget to bargain.

Jungle Adventure

While its beaches are renowned, Thailand is also home to stunning natural landscapes that are not surrounded by water. Take a guided trek through the dense jungle to see incredible waterfalls and exotic wildlife.

Full Moon Party

The Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan is the stuff of legends. Each month, the event draws thousands of party-goers who dance the night away on the beach. Expect live music, neon body paint, and buckets of cheap cocktails.
