Equatorial Guinea, a small country located on Africa’s western Atlantic coast, is not the most popular vacation destination out there. It’s a shame, though, as the island of Bioko where most of the population lives, is a tropical paradise with all kinds of things to do and check out. So, are you wondering just what there is to see and do in Bioko? Use these three ideas as a starting point!
Pico Basile
Located in the northern half of the island is the nearly 10,000 foot high Pico Basile mountain, which gives its name to a national park that protects this natural site. Guides can take you on hikes and tours through the dense rainforest which is full of unique plants and animals.
Resorts
Bioko offers plenty for upscale tourists as well, including a number of resorts with world-class amenities and golf. Arguably the best one is the brand new Sofitel Malabo Sipopo Le Golf resort, which features five-star rooms, a private beach, and a world-class golf course.
Malabo National Park
One of the most fascinating things to see in the capital city of Malabo is its namesake national park. More like a city park, here, you’ll find native vegetation and flowers immaculately kept along with fountains and statues from Equatorial Guinean artists.
