This way, you’ll discover exciting new destinations or get more info about the places you are thinking about visiting. But, of course, it doesn’t hurt that these shows are almost always a great watch and will keep you glued to the screen. Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown

When someone mentions a travel show, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown immediately pops into mind. It features late chef Anthony Bourdain visiting lesser-known corners of the world and learning more about their culture and cuisine. The series was followed by critical, and audience acclaim through its 12-seasons run and is considered a golden standard for travel and food shows.

Departures

Departures follows two high-school friends traveling to various locations around the world with their cameraman. With no flashy production or scripted scenes, the show is an entertaining program about people who just enjoy visiting new places and want to share that with others. 

Long Way Round/Down/Up

Long Way Round is one of the more unique travel shows out there. It documents the motorcycle trip from London to New York undertaken by actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. Later, the duo filmed two sequels set on different continents, Long Way Down and Long Way Up.
