Bath, South West
This grand city in the south west of England is known as Jane Austen’s town, because she lived here for several years. Matlock, North West
Matlock was one of the most famous spa towns of its day, and is still visited for its stunning views over the hills of the Peak District. This whimsical town has plenty of character, and you can visit the local museum for a history of the area during the Victorian era.

There is a clue in the name when it comes to this former spa town! Although the Victorian era spas may no longer function, the number of luxury, modern spas in this area mean you can still consider yourself in ‘spa country’!
