Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur is home to the largest museum of Islamic arts in South East Asia, which opened its doors in 1998. Its turquoise-colored building pays homage to the traditional Islamic architecture and it’s home to over 7,000 artifacts from the Islamic world, displayed in twelve gallery spaces over two levels.
National Art Gallery
The National Visual Arts Gallery has been around since 1958 and grew into one of Malaysia’s leading art galleries in the decades to come. Its collection now features around 2,500 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, and textiles.
Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery
If you want to explore Malaysia’s modern art scene while in Kuala Lumpur, this gallery is just the thing you need. It opened its doors on the grounds of the former Bank Negara Money Museum and features a collection of Malaysian & Southeast Asian art with several sections exploring Malaysia’s role as one of the leading financial centers in the Islamic world.
