Travel-Sized Toiletries to Throw in Your Carry-On

One of the most frustrating parts of international travel is trying to figure out what is and isn’t okay to pack in your carry-on suitcase. The last thing we want is to be going through security and be forced to throw away something that we’ve packed. In general, toiletries under 3.4 ounces are a pretty safe bet, and while you can always buy empty bottles and fill them with your favorite products, sometimes it’s easier to grab some ready-to-go travel-sized toiletries instead. Here are a few we always have in our bags.

Amika Hair Products

Hotels typically have hair care basics like shampoo and conditioner, and if they don’t, it’s easy to stop by the nearest drugstore and pick up what we need, but finding anything else can be a bit more complicated. Amika is one of our go-to brands, so we love that they make TSA-approved versions of products like their dry shampoo, anti-humidity shield, and hairspray.

Supergoop! Sunscreens

This one is especially important when our destination is somewhere with lots of sun or whenever we plan to spend time outdoors. Their Unseen Sunscreen and Glow Screen are both formulated with SPF 40 and are available in 1.7 oz containers ideal for stuffing into a carry-on.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

Our skin typically needs a little refreshment after hours spent on a plane, so we were thrilled to discover that influencer Marianna Hewitt’s skincare brand Summer Fridays now makes their iconic Jet Lag hydration mask in miniature size. If there’s one product that we’d argue needs to be travel-friendly, it’s this one.
