Unique Hostels Around the World

Staying in hostels is a great way to travel the world on a budget. You can meet other travelers and make new friends; some hostels even organize outings for their guests to get to know the location! The premise of most hostels is the same: affordable lodging through shared dormitories for sleep and a common room/kitchen for travelers to gather or share a meal. There are tons of hostels all over the world, but a few of them stand out among the crowd. Here are a few of our favorites:

Tree House Hostel in Turkey

Kadirs Tree House is located on the southern coast of Turkey by the Mediterranean Sea. The location offers plenty of opportunities for excursions and day trips, from Jeep safaris to scuba diving. Or kick back and relax on the beach and soak in the beautiful views.

Chili Kiwi Lakefront

This hostel in Pucón Chile has been voted the #1 Hostel in Latin America twice! They also have treehouse rooms available but for any Lord of the Rings fans out there they offer “Hobbit-style” rooms in their garden.

The Red Boat Mälaren

Located in the center of Stockholm, Sweden, this hostel is actually, you guessed it, on a boat. It’s within walking distance to plenty of shops and restaurants so it’s ideal for anyone who prefers a city-centric getaway over something in the jungle. Just think twice if you’re prone to seasickness.
