If you want to immerse yourself in French culture and cuisine outside of France itself, Montreal is maybe the best place you can choose.

The city in Canada’s region Quebec is the second largest French speaking city right after Paris, and is one of the most beautiful places in North America.

Being one of the oldest settlements on the continent, Montreal enchants with its rich history and stunning architecture. The part of the city called Old Montreal will make you feel like you are walking the streets of 17th century Paris with its historical buildings, many of whom date as far back as the 1700s.

Downtown on the other hand, is the modern part, which makes Montreal famous for its great skyscrapers and shopping malls.

If you want to take a break from the concrete jungle, Montreal offers a great number of lovely parks with the most famous being the Parc du Mont-Royal, which is located on a hill in the middle of the city and offers a great view of Montreal.

Finally, Montreal is the perfect destination for the food aficionados! Its rich French culinary heritage mixed with the great North American traditions have created a unique cuisine, making restaurant visits pretty much mandatory.
