Thailand is a beautiful country with lots of amazing history, beaches, and food. Even better, it’s a great destination to visit on a budget. If you’re thinking of visiting Thailand and wondering where you should stay, you have plenty of options. Here are some of the best areas to stay on your trip!

Chiang Mai

With ancient city walls and temples coupled with modern cafes and coworking spaces, Chiang Mai is a lovely place to stay for families and young people. It’s also small enough to walk around to most destinations. For accommodations, there are guest houses, Airbnbs, and hotels to choose from around the city.

Pai Village

In northern Thailand up in the mountains, Pai is a smaller but beautiful getaway with lots to offer including eco-resorts, a particularly good night market, and beautiful mountain views. In addition to eco-resorts, there are hostel and hotel options both in town and out on the neighboring river.

Bangkok

With a bustling population of eight million and plenty of other backpackers and travelers to meet, Bangkok is a great place to stay for those on a budget. There are cheap accommodations and free attractions around the city, including hostels right by the nightlife and traditional houses further out by the river.
