If you’re traveling solo and looking for accommodation, hostels are without a doubt the best option for you. There are a few exceptions, but most of the time hostels can benefit you in a myriad of ways that other lodging options simply can’t. Here are a few solid reasons why you should stay at a hostel if you’re traveling alone.

It’s Cheaper

This is obviously relevant whether you’re traveling solo or not, but nevertheless, it’s a great reason to stay at a hostel. They’re substantially cheaper than any other option, which will benefit you greatly if you’re on a budget, looking to travel for a long time, or both!

It’s Great for Meeting People

If you’re hoping to meet new friends on your travels, we’d venture to say that staying at a hostel is an absolute must. Sure, you can still meet people if you stay at a hotel or Airbnb, but hostels are designed specifically to bring people together. There are events, mixers, parties, and all kinds of setups in place geared towards introducing you to others. And then of course there’s the fact that you’re literally staying in the same room as some of them! In some cases, you may meet a friend for life!
