Some people find packing to be one of the easiest things in the world to do, while others always seem to run into dilemmas that last ages. There are so many different kinds of shoes out there, and unfortunately you don’t always know which ones you’re going to need. Here’s a bit of a guide that’ll help you figure out which kind of shoes to pack.

Hot or Cold?

The first question you’ll need to ask yourself is: what’s the temperature like in the place that you’re visiting? If the weather is hot, then you should definitely bring a pair of sandals or flip flops. If it’s cold, you probably won’t need those, but instead you may benefit from some warm boots.

What Are Your Plans?

We understand that you don’t always know precisely what your plans are going to be, but you probably have a vague idea. You probably know if you’re going to be somewhere fancy, and if that’s the case, bring at least one pair of dress shoes, or high heels if you’re a woman. If you’re going to be embarking on long hikes, make sure to take a hefty pair of hiking shoes. If you’d rather pack lightly, you can consolidate your hiking shoes with your regular walking shoes that you’ll be wearing most of the time. On that note, bring casual walking shoes!
