There are many different universities around the world. The one thing they all have in common is that they’re places you go to get an education, but everything else can be vastly different from one place to another. When it comes to gorgeous architectures and beautiful old buildings, here are our three favorite European universities.

University of Heidelberg in Germany

Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg is the oldest university in Germany. Located in a small town of Heidelberg, it was established in 1386 and is one of the oldest universities in the world that still stands today.

University of Salamanca in Spain

The visitors of University of Salamanca are awed by the incredible architecture and rich history this place provides. The university dates back to the 12th century and is one of the best examples of classical Spanish design.

University of Bologna in Italy

Officially the oldest university in the world (continuously working), the University of Bologna was founded in the 11th century (1088). Besides its history, it’s known for amazing architecture that includes several Palazzos and buildings that feature Gothic and Renaissance Style. Students can also enjoy a big botanical garden in between their lectures.
