If you’re an adventurer, why not try visiting some of these less well-known locales.

Tasmania

Most tourists head to Melbourne or Sidney when visiting Australia. Just off the southern coast, Tasmania provides a contrasting experience with the wildness of prehistoric eucalyptus forests, a rugged coastline, and rural countryside.

The coastal village of Eaglehawk Neck is the gateway to Tasmania and a great destination in its own right. A growing craft beer and contemporary art scene add a cosmopolitan flavor to the area.

Greenland

The main means of transportation in this remote location are sea kayaking and dog sledding. From September to April, you could see the incomparable Northern Lights. Sign up for a whale-watching trip or a wildlife excursion and see walruses, polar bears, and reindeer.  Take a helicopter ride over the towering fjiords and view the glacial tundra from the skies.

Uruguay

The time to visit Uruguay is in November at the start of the summer season. Stay at one of the design-forward resorts and experience sun and surf. South America is famous for its beach culture and Uruguay is no exception.

Enjoy grilled sea bass at a waterfront restaurant or pay a visit to a local vineyard.
