Embarking on a longer trip usually means you’ll have to re-wear some of your clothes, so it’s important to keep them nice and clean. Doing laundry on the go isn’t ideal, but our useful tips and tricks will help you do it with ease.
Hotel/Hostel Service
Many hotels offer laundry service, and you’ll even find it at some hostels. Check if that’s the case with the place you’ve booked, but keep in mind this service usually doesn’t come cheap.
Local Laundromats
Laundry service at hotels and hostels is often overpriced, but you can always look for cheaper local laundromats in your area.
Washing Machine
If you’re not staying at a hotel or hostel, but an Airbnb, look for one that has a washing machine on the premises. Check in with the host to make sure there’s laundry detergent available and consider bringing your own if that’s not the case.
Hand-Washing
When everything else fails, you can always wash your clothes by hand in the sink. If you’re planning to do this, remember to pack travel-friendly laundry detergent, and stick to hand-washing lighter clothes and undergarments.
Light Clothes
If you’re planning to wash your clothes on the go, it’s always the best idea to pack lightweight clothing that you can easily air-dry, especially if you’re planning to wash them by hand.
